JQSRT Awards presented at the 9th International Symposium on Radiative Transfer (RAD-19) and the 18th Electromagnetic and Light Scattering (ELS-XVIII)

Опубликовано: 03-07-2019

Elsevier and the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer are proud to present the winner of the 2019 Poynting Award on Radiative Transfer, Dr. Andrew Lacis, and the winner of the Raymond Viskanta Award, Dr. Sophia Haussener. The awards were presented at the 9th International Symposium on Radiative Transfer (RAD-19) in Athens, Greece, during the award ceremony on June 6th 2019.

The Poynting award was established in 2012 in honor of John Henry Poynting, and honors the life-time contributions and achievements of a scientist who has made a landmark impact on the radiative transfer research and its applications.

The Viskanta Award is awarded to early-career scientists and engineers who work on the theory and application of radiative transfer (including thermal sciences, atmospheric radiation, optical sciences, near- and far-field radiation transfer, remote sensing or all other relevant areas).
